Customisable designs for terrestrial and aerospace, including LEO and GEO
TerOpta's extensive experience in optical systems and photonic communication technologies is complemented by our skills in electronic design (analogue, high-speed, FPGA, ASIC, SoC, embedded), machine learning and dynamic control systems.
Target devices include Mach-Zehnder optical modulators, optical IQ modulators and lasers. Single devices and arrays may be addressed.
TerOpta's Modulus design employs a pilot-tone based technique for control of IQ or standard MZ optical modulators (arrays or singles).
Version shown is the Modulus MB10, which provides control for an optical IQ modulator. Its rugged enclosure makes it suitable for lab use, e.g. for device evaluation and testing. Auto-calibration and Graphical User Interface software are available. Click here for datasheet.
The Modulo range of bias controllers is designed for Mach-Zehnder devices in analogue optical systems, where pilot-tones are not acceptable.
Arrays or single devices may be controlled from the same controller unit, for reduced size, weight and power consumption.
TerOpta's controller designs are supported using dedicated software applications.
Graphical User Interfaces allow configuration and monitoring, whilst auto-calibration routines, where appropriate, allow easy set-up.
